love.

Love never gives up.

Love cares more for others than for self.

Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.

Love doesn’t strut,

Doesn’t have a swelled head,

Doesn’t force itself on others,

Isn’t always “me first,”

Doesn’t fly off the handle,

Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,

Doesn’t revel when others grovel,

Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,

Puts up with anything,

Trusts God always,

Always looks for the best,

Never looks back,

But keeps going to the end.

-I Corinthians 13:4-7
(The Message)

i am continuing to learn the cost of love.
a love that empties me of self and forces me to look beyond my wants, needs, and desires.

in a culture that tells us that our needs are priority and to communicate when you are unfulfilled, God asks us to trust in His sufficiency and love with abandon no matter what.

so even when it's uncomfortable, and even when it hurts, and even when i want to take care of myself at all costs, i pray God would help me choose love.

a love that is strong enough to sustain me and big enough to be given away.

in every season, through every trial, every day.

  1. You need to read the book Love Walked Among Us by Paul Miller. It is all about love, how Jesus loved while he was on the earth and how we should love others
