love and basketball.

Photobucket
(yep...that's mr. lesley in the gray looking like a ghost:)

in case you didn't know, i played basketball in middle school.
yep.
i'm a pretty big deal.

so it just made sense for me to volunteer myself for the staff vs. students basketball game at school today
(even after the team was already selected).

in the words of the staff member who organized the game...
"are you sure you got skills? you look so suburban!"
and
"i went around and picked people who looked athletic."
(mr. lesley was picked. i was not.)

i guess i didn't fit the bill.
he obviously hadn't heard about my b-ball career.

i must mask my crazy skillz (yes, with a "z") pretty well.

anywho...

i laced up my tennies (i love that word) and hit the court with my fellow employees.
needless to say, we dominated.
it always helps when you have division one athletes on your team...
and the opponents are 14.

highlights:
my awesome assist and mr. lesley's 4 points!

and, of course, when a student said...
"it was so cute when you stood up and cheered when mr. lesley made his shots."
(i think they're catching on to us:)

it was good times.

here's to hoping your weekend is a slam dunk!
(insert after school special theme song here)

  1. Glad you lead them to victory. You might have had an uprising on your hands if the students won!

  7. Hannah,

I am also a teacher - I teach 7th and 8th grade English - but I will not be participating in the faculty/student basketball game this year. I am SO uncoordinated. : )

But I am glad that you had such a good time! Happy Comment Love Day!
