so maybe mr. lesley and i took off on friday.
parent/teacher conferences were on wednesday, and i would vouch to say we required the day off.
seriously.
and lately my 6th graders have seemed so young.
and so annoying.
like Annoying with a capital A.
it was better to have me not in the classroom.
for both of our sakes:)
anywho...
well, we started the day off with optimism in full force.
we planned to take sir winston to the doggie park.
but...
after watching him lunge, whine, and do his own version of leash acrobatics while walking up to the park,
we decided he wasn't quite ready.
frolicking through the field was more his style sans other dogs.
(and yes, i realize it's probably not socially acceptable in the dog world to wear sweatshirts, but i thought it might have a calming affect on him. yes, i was obviously wrong).
after dropping off sir winston and possibly "discussing" our frustrations at having a dog that can't keep it together outside of the house,
we rode the light rail downtown (it was earth day after all and we are so totally eco friendly) to get some eats...
stopped by the tattered cover where i tried my best to understand my ridiculous pup...
snapped some photos as we wandered in the sunshine...
(i couldn't resist...it's so close to xoxo:)
then we got back on the train...
stopped at the grocery store...
to pick up more delicious eats and some tulips...the ultimate spring flower.
then we grilled up the steaks...
shared them with these crazy kids...
and ended the night with some office and parks and rec...
where i saw this clip.
which may have been the funniest thing i've seen in a long time.
"chicky chicky parm parm."
thank you day off.
you started out a little rough but totally redeemed yourself.
Stop reading my mind....my hubby and i were just laughing about, "bean blankey"
ReplyDeletehahahaha
This sounds like an AWESOME day away from the classroom (and well deserved I might add!). My hubby is reading that dog book too :). Also? I LOVE going out for frozen yogurt! YUM!
