there we were at the egg and i for a little post shopping brunch...
when we decided we needed to take a little trip up to the mountains.
we didn't know exactly where we'd end up, but we we got in the car, filled up with gas...
grabbed a big gulp...
...and off we went.
(it still blows my mind that i live somewhere with this kind of view)
our travels took us to idaho spring...
a quaint little mountain town
with cute antique shopping...
...and adorable outdoor seating like this everywhere.
apparently, they're celebrating the 150th aniversary of the gold rush this year.
and now for a few shots from around town...
all in all, it was one great saturday afternoon.
time to reminder truth like this...
thank you God for the weekend.
did i mention i really love colorado?
because i do.
fast forward to today...
it's sunday evening 6:58 p.m.
i'm here alone with my pandora playlists to keep me company.
i have a feeling i'll be here for most of the night...
(i just adore this little corner of my room- that old man chair is such a gem)
reading, thinking, praying, writing. i need some refocus time, that's for sure.
time to reminder truth like this...
"going through the motions doesn't please you.
a flawless performance is nothing to you.
i learned God-worship
when my pride was shattered.
heart-shattered lives ready for love
don't for a moment escape God's notice."
ps. 51: 16-17
thank you God for the weekend.
